Meet Nick
Nick is the owner and co-founder of EasyRecycle – and still out on the floor every single day.
Since 2011 he has built the company up from an idea to the real thing together with his family, with sustainability, data security and good old North Jutland business sense at the heart of it. He keeps his finger on the pulse in every department, and he is just as happy picking up a screwdriver as sitting in a big customer meeting. When he is not running the business, he enjoys a game of padel, a good film – and preferably a big red steak with pepper sauce.
How long have you been part of EasyRecycle?
I have worked with IT equipment since 1998. In 2011 I founded the company together with my brother, Danni, and my father, Svend-Erik. We saw the potential in the industry and shared a real passion for circular economy and sustainability. Today Danni and I run it side by side. I always try to keep my finger on the pulse, and I am out on the floor every single day. Data erasure has been part of my everyday life since the very beginning, so it is one of the things I know best. I keep up to date on the technical side of the business and make sure we always follow the current standards and stay ahead of the curve. The whole chain matters to me, and I take an interest in every department. Most decisions, big and small, end up passing my desk – not always because they have to, but because I genuinely care about all of it. My door is always open, and anyone can come to me for advice, whether it is personal or work-related. I am happy to lend a hand, whether that means putting a screwdriver in a device or putting the suit on for an important customer meeting.
What is the best thing about working at EasyRecycle?
The best part of working at EasyRecycle, and of running your own business, is helping create a good, healthy and meaningful place to work for a lot of people. What I like most is seeing my colleagues turn up every day with a smile, motivated to make a difference for us, so we grow and develop in the right direction. And it is remarkable what six big strawberry tarts can do.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
As little as possible. I enjoy my own company. Beyond that I take my training seriously, and I play padel with family, colleagues and friends. It can also turn into an evening on the sofa with a big bag of crisps and a good film. A big red steak with pepper sauce is always welcome on a Friday or Saturday night too.
Which project has been the most satisfying to work on?
The most satisfying project was watching EasyRecycle go from thought to action. And the fact that it is still developing at full speed makes me proud.
